Spring is making its welcomed return to the Pacific Northwest and what better way to celebrate than at Seattle’s annual Northwest Flower & Garden Festival. Gardening enthusiasts flock to the “Emerald City” for this amazing celebration and we invite you to join us on this fabulous 4-day tour to share in the festivities. This year’s festival has more beautiful displays and decorative flora than ever! If you are looking for something to jazz up your small space or fill up your whole yard, the show gardens are brimming with ideas that will inspire you and ignite your gardening desires.
Today, we will travel the Coquihalla on our journey to Seattle and the Northwest Flower & Garden Festival. With a quick stop at the Duty-free we make our way to the Embassy Suites by Hilton Seattle Downtown Pioneer Square. Situated near Seattle’s downtown shopping, dining and entertainment districts we invite you to enjoy the hotel and its surroundings this evening.
Spend the next day exploring the Northwest Flower & Garden Festival. Your gardening desires will blossom when you gaze in awe at the spectacular Show Gardens created by the most respected garden designers and landscapers of the region. No matter your style or needs, you’ll find inspiration for outdoor living, edible gardening, sustainability and more. (B)
Purchase of Plants or Seeds: The Washington Department of Agriculture has a booth on site where they will issue the Phytosanitary Certificate for any purchase of plants or seeds. This is mandatory in order to clear Canada Customs.
Another day exploring the festival awaits. The show is renowned for offering the finest roster of free horticulture seminars of any garden show in the world! Looking for a break from the festivities, World Famous Pike Place Market is located only a few short blocks from the convention center and the fabulous Pike Place Market is a short walk from the hotel. Following breakfast, we depart Seattle and head north to the border at Sumas. Enjoy a stop at the Duty-free before crossing back into Canada. The Minter Country Garden Store welcomes us for lunch and allows us the opportunity to explore the full-service garden centre. Take in a lovely lunch in the in-house café and listen to a presentation by Brian Minter. Return home later today with new and inspiring ideas on how to create your very own garden oasis. (B, L)
