To the north an eerie, sulphurous-green sheen begins to ripple into the night sky. It arcs itself into an ebb and flow, slowly growing, then suddenly bursts across the full expanse of the night sky waving and dancing as if it were happy. It’s the spectacular and mystical Northern Lights – an unforgettable experience and for many a once-in-a-lifetime dream. Viewing of the mystical Northern Lights takes place each night and we’ve included daytime northern adventures too. Come experience an astronomical phenomenon.
Board your morning flight aboard Air Canada to Vancouver, where you will be met by your Tour Manager and continue onto Whitehorse arriving late this afternoon. Upon arrival, we transfer to our hotel in downtown Whitehorse then meet up for an informational meeting followed with free time to settle in. Tonight the group will gather for a meal together before we depart at 10 pm for the Aurora viewing. A cozy, heated cabin or wall tent with hot drinks and snacks promises to make your Aurora viewing even more enjoyable. (D)
Whitehorse is known as the Wilderness City and we are introduced to its charm today with a guided city tour. Highlights include the Train Depot for the famous White Pass and Yukon Route, Log Skyscraper, Log Church, the Sternwheeler SS Klondike and much more. This evening we return to the Northern Lights Viewing Facility for another Aurora viewing. (B)
Embark on a narrated tour through the Yukon Wildlife Preserve, providing ample opportunity to view a variety of northern mammals and their distinctive habitats including Dall Sheep, Bighorn Sheep, Mountain Goat, Deer, Elk, Caribou, Bison. Tonight we return to the Northern Lights Viewing facility for another opportunity to watch the night sky come alive with brilliant dancing colours. (B)
Experience the rush of being pulled in a sled by a husky dog team as you glide through the cold, crisp air. Visit a race checkpoint, and learn the history behind dogsledding and what life as a musher is like. This half day tour includes s’mores, bison smokies and hot bevies by the fire. Tonight is our final night to view the amazing Northern Lights from the comfort of a heated cabin or wall tent. (B, D)
Enjoy a day of leisure exploring the downtown on your own before boarding our afternoon flight back to Vancouver, then onto either Kamloops or Kelowna. Return home with memories to last a lifetime of the quiet, tranquil and truly amazing Yukon. (B)

Things to Know:
This experience is dependant on weather. We’ve included four nights of viewing opportunity at the Northern Lights Facility but cloudy skies or inclement weather could interfere with our plans. There is no guarantee that the Northern Lights will be active, when they will be active or for how long. We will make every effort to reschedule any cancelled activities during our stay.
Clothing – dress warmly! Much of this tour is outdoors both in the daytime and nighttime. Make sure you are prepared even when warm huts and cabins are available.
