Escape to the serenity and beauty of Harrison and soak in the healing waters of the hot springs. Embark on a holiday tradition – a Carol Ship cruise on Coal Harbour and explore the stunning VanDusen Gardens during their annual Christmas light up. We invite you to enjoy the sights and sounds of the season unfolding as wonderful holiday memories are created during this special time.
Visit with fellow companions as we travel over the Coquihalla to the resort area of Harrison Hot Springs. Located on the picturesque shores of Harrison Lake, travelers have long sought after the source that provides warmth to the hot mineral pools and inspiration for healing spa treatments since 1886. Settle into this beautiful oasis and prepare to soak your way to relaxation and serenity. Optional: for a special experience treat yourself to an evening of dining pleasure at the legendary Copper Room and enjoy fresh, local cuisine, live music and dancing.
Following a delicious breakfast buffet for which Harrison Hot Springs Resort has become well known for, board the coach for the 90 minute drive into Vancouver. Our first stop is the Burnaby Christmas Village where a sparkling winter wonderland awaits. Next, arrive in the heart of the city where our home for the next two nights is at the Century-Plaza Hotel Spa located in the heart of downtown and close to many favourite shopping and dining locations. This evening join us for a lively dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory where you can enjoy traditional Italian entrees amid turn-of-the-century décor. Located in the heart of Gastown, The Old Spaghetti Factory offers a fantastic starting point for a leisurely stroll through Vancouver’s oldest neighborhood and epicenter of the urban revolution, then visit the annual VanDusen Festival of Lights where this beautiful serene botanical oasis is turned into a winter wonderland. Millions of colourful lights are strewn around flower beds, trees, shrubs and decorations combing to create an awesome spectacle. Stroll through the brightly-lit pathways – including the Gingerbread Walk and Candy Cane Lane. (BB, D)
For the past 27 years, the Hyatt Regency hotel lobby is transformed into Gingerbread Lane, showcasing creative gingerbread houses and structures whisked together by high school students, professionals and amateur culinary artists, all in support of the Make-A-Wish-Foundation. The Parade of Lights is sure to be an event not soon forgotten. A large cavalcade of ships gather in Coal Harbor, where they set sail for 3 hours of festivities. The ships are decorated with hundreds of colorful lights both inside and out. You’ll listen to holiday classics while dining on a traditional Christmas Buffet Dinner. And if you’re good, Santa might even pop by for a visit. Christmas Carolers are there to lead you in song, or if you prefer, just sit back, enjoy, and let the spirit of Christmas take you away. (D
Following a leisurely morning, we begin the homeward journey with wonderful holiday memories of this unique experience to some of the Lower Mainland’s favorite holiday traditions.
